Originally from Karabük, Metin Arslan, who resisted the coup attempt in front of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality building on the night of July 15, was martyred after he was shot in the eye, by the vicious soldiers.
“I’m too sick, come”
Metin Arslan’s father Zeki and mother Şazi Arslan, who reside in Karabük, were assigned a salary within enactments regarding the state of emergency, by the Social Security Instituion.The martyr’s mother, Şazi Arslan showed his son’s picture she always carried, and said, “Look, my son is gone, he is gone. I spoke to my son on the night of the coup attempt. I said, ‘Don’t stay there, come here, I’m too sick.’ His answer was, ‘I will.’I barely saw my son.He is gone and lost.”
Arslan’s body was taken from the İstanbul Forensic Medicine Institute’s morgue to Karabük Camlık Mosque, by his relatives.
After the funeral prayers, Arslan was buried in the Öğlebeli Cemetery.
