The judiciary took action on the coup attempt and launched a probe into those who had made this attempt within the Turkish Armed Forces. The Public Prosecutor of Ankara ruled on the detention of putschist Fetullah Terror Organization (FETÖ)/ Parallel State Structure (PDY)-affiliated judiciary staff and so-called “Peace at Home Council”-affiliated putschist soldiers.

Putschist soldiers who were deployed around the Republic Monument in Taksim surrendered to the police. Putschist soldiers left the monument after a long struggle. They were stripped of arms and detained by the police.

President Erdoğan made a statement after he landed at the Atatürk Airport by the Presidential ATA plane. Stating that F-16 fighter jets used by coup plotters tried to isolate his plane, President Erdoğan said that coup-makers were occupants and that this country would not be left to them.
After the airport was cleared of putschist soldiers, operations at the Istanbul Atatürk Airport returned to normal in line with President Erdoğan’s instructions. It was announced that all flights of Turkish Airlines (THY) would resume as of 06.00 a.m.
