Special Operations Police officer Hurşit Uzel was originally from Hatay. Uzel, who was planning his retirement the next year, was martyred on the night of July 15.
Uzel, who served as a police officer for 21 years, fell a martyr upon an airstrike at Ankara Gölbaşı Police Department. After 45-year-old Hurşit Uzel’s death, his poems were found. “We will flow like blood do, and we will reinforce this unity like a man.” a sentence from one of his poems, is a sign of his longing for martyrdom.
Martyr Hurşit Uzel’s children; 6-year-old Ahmet Reşit, 15-year-old Zeynep Sude and 19-year-old Hilal were left fatherless.The martyr was buried in the Kırıkhan Cemetery in Hatay.
The name of martyr Hurşit Uzel, who had served in Ankara for two years, was given to a middle school in Kırıkhan.
