Police officer Mehmet Oruç, was on duty at the Gölbaşı Special Operations Center, where FETÖ’s terrorists carried out heavy attacks. He fell a martyr, alongside his twin brother Ahmet Oruç.
Mehmet was receiving training at the Special Operations Department in Gölbaşı to become a helicopter pilot. He was 25 years old and got married in August, 2015.
The twin martyrs had been on duty in the Adana Riot Police Branch Office and were assigned to Ankara on temporary duty. Their bodies were brought to Adana overland. The twins’ older brother, Mustafa Oruç, is a specialized sergeant. He shed tears before the coffins of his martyred brothers.The twins’ bodies were identified through the serial numbers detected on their guns.
The martyrs had been policemen for 3 years. They were both buried in their hometown, Adana.
Martyr Mehmet Oruç’s name was given to a primary school and an imam hatip middle school in Tire, İzmir and both the names of martyr twins Ahmet and Mehmet Oruç were given to a sports school in their hometown, Adana.
