Previously wounded in Cizre during an operation against the PKK before returning to his duty, Special Operations Police Officer Birol Yavuz was martyred on July 15 by treacherous FETÖ members. Martyred after the attack on the Ankara Gölbaşı Special Operations Headquarters on the night of July 15, Yavuz left three daughters fatherless: Cemre Nur (15), Zeynep (10), Kübra (7).
Leaving two wills for his family, 41-year-old Martyr Birol Yavuz had said, “If I fall a martyr, don’t cry.” and “Bury me in Erbaa” As the family was trying to hold themselves not to cry to fulfill his will, the martyr was buried in his hometown of Erbaa, Tokat.
“My happiest day”
Setting an example of a great solidity after Martyr Birol Yavuz's death, the martyr’s wife Hatice Yavuz said, “You survived the East. This is the best they can do. My love, my life, my heart. I am proud of you. This is my happiest day, I’d give my life for you. I am a martyr’s wife, I have my courageous kids.”
To honor the martyr, his name was given to a middle school in Tokat, and a special corner was created.
