Ramazan Meşe, a young martyr of the democracy watch, achieved martyrdom during the coup protests on July 15.
Ramazan Meşe, who heard about the coup attempt of the traitors, went to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge with his brother in law Murat Çalı, upon the call of President Erdoğan. Meşe, who survived the longest night without any injury, continued to attend watches going on all over Turkey.
Ramazan Meşe got prepared to go on watch on July 18th. Meşe, who took a shower and got dressed neatly as if he felt he was going to fall a martyr, got out answering his sister’s question, “What is going on Ramazan, are you going to wedding?” with, “Today is totally different. Don’t you forget me, I love you all.” On the 3rd day of the watch, he attended the protest against the coup attempt in front of the Disaster Coordination Center.
A gunfire attack upon the group of 20 people, who were returning from the watch in front of Disaster Coordination Center from Nurtepe Bridge, occured, while the group were driving on the Hasdal Okmeydanı TEM intersection. Meşe, who was in the pick-up raked by the DHKPC (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front), was martyred after being shot in the head.
Originally from Gümüşhane, Ramazan Meşe, who earned his living as a carpenter, had done his military service in Hakkari as an infantryman, and wanted to fell a martyr badly. Raised by his sisters as an orphan, 25-year-old Meşe, who was known for his humility and modesty, achieved the martyrdom he had always desired on the night of July 18th.
