Thirty-one-year-old Emrah Sapa, was martyred in the headquarters of the 4th Jet Base Command on July 15th, when he was shot in the head. He learned from the TV broadcast of the coup initiative by the FETO traitors. He displayed his first reaction on Facebook saying, "My president! Anatolian sons are at your command with all their presence, waiting for your instruction."
Making the decision to go out with his friend following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call to, "go out onto the streets," Sapa opposed his father, who refused to let him go. He went to the 4th Main Jet Base Command to prevent the launch of warplanes and resisted coup troops with patriots gathered in front of the Command, it was then that he was shot in the head. His friend who was with him injured his leg. He eventually became a martyr in the hospital where he was severely wounded.
“I sacrifice all my children”
Speaking of his son coming home from work and going back out to prevent coup attempt with his friends, İsmail Sapa said, “My son came back home and said that he was going back out. Although I warned him not to go, he wouldn’t listen to me and went out against the putschists, along with his friends. His friend told him to go back but he didn’t care. As his friend was shot in the leg, my son fell a martyr with a bullet in his head. I shall sacrifice all my children for this country.”
Martyr Emrah Sapa was buried in his hometown of Korgan, Ordu, on July 17th. His name was given to the street ‘Azaplı Sokak’ where his house is located, in his hometown, and to the Korgan İmam Hatip Middle School, additionally an Anatolian imam hatip high school in Samsun was renamed after Emrah Sapa.
