Ayhan Keleş, who was born in 1964, was one of the civilians martyred at Beştepe. As soon as he heard of the coup attempt on the night of July 15, Keleş headed to the Presidential Palace Complex and was martyred as a result of gunshots.
Originally from Kırşehir Kaman, Keles was married and a father of two children who sold furniture in Ankara. At the age of 52, Ayhan Keleş reached martyrdom, and his body was taken to Kaman on July 18 and buried in the Kurancılı Cemetery.
The name Martyr Ayhan Keleş was given to a primary school in Kırşehir Kurancılı and the clock tower built by the initiative of the Kurancılı Mayor Erdoğan Tekeli at the town square was named the "July 15, 2016 Democracy Martyr Ayhan Keleş Clock Tower."
