World number one Simona Halep was eliminated by Serena Williams in the fourth round at the Australian Open 2019 on Monday.
The 16th-seeded Williams defeated 27-year-old Romanian Halep 2-1 in three sets by 6-1, 4-6, and 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinal.
"I am such a fighter. I never give up," the 37-year-old American tennis player said after the match.
