Nechirvan Barzani reaffirms his support for rights of Turkmens, other communities in region, emphasizes coexistence
Nechirvan Barzani, the president of northern Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) in Iraq, on Sunday celebrated Turkmen Language and Culture Day with a Turkish message.
“I sincerely congratulate our Turkmen citizens on Turkmen Language and Culture Day,” Barzani said on X, reaffirming his support for the rights of all communities living in the region.
He emphasized that the region belongs to everyone and remains a center for coexistence.
On Jan. 12, the KRG parliament officially designated Nov. 17 as Turkmen Language and Culture Day and Feb. 25 as Turkmen Press Day.
