Turkey to develop own fighter jets, says Erdoğan

Turkey is one of ten countries that can build warships with its national capabilities, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Sunday.

He stated that Turkey is resolved to reach heights domestically in all areas, including ships, artillery, missiles, torpedoes and electronic systems, during a speech at the commissioning ceremony of corvette TCG Kinaliada, the first MILGEM-class ship to be sold to Pakistan.

"We will have our own fighter jets just as we developed our own unmanned, manned aerial vehicles and satellites ourselves," continued Erdoğan.
