Israel charges 3 Palestinians with alleged plot to kill far-right minister Ben-Gvir

Israeli authorities have charged three Palestinians with allegedly plotting to kill far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli media said on Thursday.

The Israeli public broadcaster said an indictment was filed against the three, from the West Bank city of Hebron, for allegedly planning to kill Ben-Gvir and his son.

Ben-Gvir, leader of the far-right Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) Party, is a settler in Hebron and oversees the Israeli police force.

Ben-Gvir, known for his hardline positions against Palestinians, is a controversial figure and one of the leading proponents of the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Israel has launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip following a Hamas attack last year, killing nearly 44,000 people, most of them women and children, and injuring over 104,000.

International recognition of the genocide in Gaza has grown in the second year of the deadly Israeli war, as organizations and leaders have labeled the events as a deliberate attempt to destroy a population.
