Real Madrid edge out Manchester City 1-0 in semi-final second leg in Spain and reach the final in Champions League
Spanish football giants Real Madrid will meet city rivals Atletico Madrid in the final game of Europe's top tier football tournament, UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid beat late Wednesday England's Manchester City 1-0 in semi-final stage's second leg in Spanish capital to advance to the final on 1-0 aggregate.
The first leg in Manchester on April 26 ended 0-0.
Visitors Manchester City's Brazilian defensive midfielder Fernando scored an own goal in 20th minute of the match.
Real Madrid will play against Atletico Madrid at Giuseppe Meazza -- otherwise known as San Siro -- in the 2016 UEFA Champions League final in Milan, Italy on May 28.
The other finalists Atletico Madrid knocked German heavyweights Bayern Munich out of the tournament in semi final stage Tuesday night.
Bayern Munich were unable to advance to final despite winning the match 2-1 in their home, Allianz Arena since their Spanish opponents won the first leg 1-0.
Atletico Madrid claimed the Champions League final ticket on away goal.
The Spanish club will be in the final for the third time after 1974 and 2014.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will look for their 11th Champions League title.
Two Spanish teams met in the 2014 Champions League final in Lisbon and Real Madrid won their 10th title by beating Atletico 4-1 after extra time.
