Jefferson Farfan, Christian Ramos score to make history for Peru's first World Cup showing since 1982
Booking their ticket to the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time since 1982, Peru defeated New Zealand 2-0 late Wednesday in the capital Lima.
Jefferson Farfan and Christian Ramos were the home team scorers for the historic win, as they eliminated their opponent in the qualifying playoff second leg match to participate in world football's biggest event.
With Peru completing the line-up of 32 teams for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia, the seeding pots for the Final Draw were announced as well.
The eight groups will be drawn on Dec. 1 at Moscow's State Kremlin Palace. Below are the seedings for each qualified country:
POT 1: Russia (hosts), Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, France
POT 2: Spain, Peru, Switzerland, England, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Croatia
POT 3: Denmark, Iceland, Costa Rica, Sweden, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Iran
POT 4: Serbia, Nigeria, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Panama, South Korea, Saudi Arabia
