Reigning MVP scores a season-high 57 points in absence of Clint Capela

James Harden scored a season-high 57 points to lead the Houston Rockets over the Memphis Grizzlies 112-94 on Monday evening in the NBA.

The reigning MVP (Most Valuable Player) started the game hot as he already scored 36 points in the first half, carrying his short-handed team in the absence of center player Clint Capela.

Harden extended his streak of 30-point games to 17, as the Rockets improved to 25 wins and 18 losses in the season.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies dropped to 19 wins and 24 losses.

In another match of the evening, Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Los Angeles Clippers 121-117.

Davis scored 46 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to propel victory for his team, while Julius Randle chipped in 27 points as well.

In San Antonio, the Charlotte Hornets managed to beat the Spurs 108-93 behind Kemba Walkers' 33 points.

Spurs suffered their 20th loss of the season, while Charlotte got their 20th win.

It was an emotional match for Tony Parker, as he was the Spurs' point guard for 17 years, which included four championships, six All-Star appearances and a Finals MVP.
