Turkey's Spor Toto Super Lig heats up as Beşiktaş, Başakşehir share points in battle of the undefeated
Fenerbahçe will aim to bag another three points against Çaykur Rizespor in the Istanbul side's Sunday away match in the Turkish Super Toto Super Lig.
Fenerbahçe is on top form as the team won its last six matches in the domestic league and the UEFA Europa League.
If Fenerbahçe wins, the points difference with league leaders Medipol Başakşehir will be cut to six and with second-placed Beşiktaş to only four.
In Saturday evening's clash, Beşiktaş Medipol Başakşehir shared the spoils with a score of 1-1.
The two Istanbul teams, who have yet to be defeated in the league, only allowed other contenders to get closer.
Medipol Başakşehir's youngster Cengiz Under put his team up with a well-placed finish from a counter attack in 21st minute to shock the home side.
Resisting constant attacks from Başakşehir, Beşiktaş managed to equalize the score in the 51st minute from a corner kick.
Brazilian defender Marcelo Guedes found the net with a header from the corner to even the score at 1-1.
With the score, Başakşehir remained top of the league with 30 points and Beşiktaş stayed put at second place.
