Black Eagles look to start Champions League run with away win in Portugal
Istanbul club Besiktas will start their UEFA Champions League campaign with an away match against Portugal's Porto on Wednesday night.
The Group G match in Dragao Stadium will start at 8.45 p.m. local time (1945GMT).
Besiktas manager Senol Gunes, in a news briefing Tuesday night in Porto, said the group "is a tough one and there are matches we need to win to advance".
"We want to take responsibility and give our fans a good result. I cannot comment on what the score will be but I hope we win," Gunes said.
In the group's other match, France's Monaco and Germany's RB Leipzig will go head-to-head in Germany.
Wednesday’s Porto match will mark Besiktas's 197th game in European competitions -- they have won 73 games so far, drawn 42 times and lost 81.
