49-year-old joined Fenerbahce in 2020, helped Istanbul club reach EuroLeague playoffs last season
Turkish basketball club Fenerbahce Beko on Tuesday parted ways with head coach Igor Kokoskov.
In a statement, Fenerbahce Beko said Kokoskov wanted to accept the offer from NBA franchise Dallas Mavericks for family reasons, and the club respected his choice and let him go.
The Turkish club thanked him for his contributions and wished him best for the future.
The 49-year-old joined Fenerbahce in 2020 and helped the Istanbul team reach the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs last season, where they were eliminated by Russia's CSKA Moscow.
Before his one-season spell in Turkey, Kokoskov served for NBA's Sacramento Kings as an assistant coach in the 2019-20 season.
Kokoskov led the Slovenian national team to win gold in the EuroBasket 2017, the country's first European championship.
