Team captain signs 1-year contract with the Lions, who narrowly missed last Turkish Super Lig crown
Arda Turan signed a new one-year contract with Istanbul powerhouse Galatasaray on Tuesday, according to the club's official website.
Saying that he is as excited as on his first day with the football club, the Galatasaray captain said: “I am very happy. I want to enjoy every moment of my time at Galatasaray and win successes and trophies."
Turan joined Galatasaray from Spanish giants Barcelona in 2020.
The 34-year-old helped win two La Liga titles, one with Barcelona and one with Atletico Madrid.
He also helped Atletico win a Europa League championship.
Galatasaray finished second in the 2020-2021 season of the Turkish Super Lig with 84 points, missing the title by only one goal difference.
